A record you keep
Not: A diagnosis
Flowy stores what you choose to log and makes your own patterns easier to see and to describe to a clinician. It cannot tell you what is causing them.
About Flowy
Flowy is a period and cycle tracker for iPhone, built in Vienna by one person. This page says who that is, how the 28 guides and 7 calculators on this site are written, and — just as importantly — what none of it can do for you.
Who builds Flowy
Founder, Flowy · Vienna, Austria
Rohit Gupta is the founder of Flowy, a period and cycle tracking app for iPhone built in Vienna. He designs and writes the product, the free calculators on this site, and the guides in the Flowy journal.
He is a software engineer, not a doctor, midwife, or nurse. Nothing he writes here is drawn from clinical practice or personal medical expertise. Every guide is assembled from public guidance published by organisations such as the NHS, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the U.S. Office on Women’s Health, the CDC, NICE, and the WHO, and each one lists the sources it was built from so you can read them yourself.
Editorial policy
Period and cycle health is the kind of subject where being confidently wrong does real damage. So the rules for what goes on this site are narrow, and stated here rather than left for you to guess.
Each article ends with the specific pages it was built from, linked so you can read the original. If a claim is not in one of those sources, it does not belong in the guide.
Flowy has no doctor, midwife, or nurse on staff, and no contracted medical reviewer. Every article says so above the first paragraph. When that changes, the reviewer will be named with their credentials and the date they reviewed the page, and not before.
Guides explain what published guidance says and what a tracker can reasonably show you. They do not interpret your symptoms, confirm ovulation or pregnancy, or tell you to start or stop a medicine. Most end with the point at which you should talk to a healthcare professional instead.
Calculators and predictions are built on cycle averages, which move. We show the method, name its limits, and never present an estimate as confirmation. Flowy is not contraception.
If something here is wrong, unclear, or out of date, email it in and it gets fixed. Substantive changes are stamped with an updated date on the article.
Where the content comes from
These are the bodies cited across the journal and the calculator method notes. Each article links the specific pages it used, with the date they were last checked.
Scope
Not: A diagnosis
Flowy stores what you choose to log and makes your own patterns easier to see and to describe to a clinician. It cannot tell you what is causing them.
Not: Contraception or a fertility test
Cycle and fertile-window estimates come from your own history. They cannot confirm ovulation, prevent pregnancy, or replace a pregnancy test.
Not: An advertising product
Flowy does not sell personal or health data or build an advertising profile from a cycle history. Calculator inputs on this site stay in your browser, and the app ships export, reset, and delete controls.
Corrections and questions
Spotted a claim that does not match its source, a guide that has aged badly, or wording that could mislead someone? That is the most useful message you can send.
For urgent medical concerns, contact a qualified healthcare professional or your local emergency service. Flowy cannot help with those.
