The calculation
How this estimate works
The tool counts forward to your next expected period, subtracts your luteal phase length to place ovulation, and puts the implantation window 6 to 12 days after that. Days 8 to 10 are marked as the most likely, following the pattern reported in tracked conception cycles.
The earliest test date allows three days of hCG build from day 9, the middle of the window. The reliable test date is your expected period, where a negative result finally carries weight.
Good to know
Leave room for real life
Every date here rests on an estimated ovulation, which itself rests on your cycle behaving the way it usually does. If ovulation ran late this cycle, the whole window slides with it, and an early negative test says more about the timing than about the outcome.
The two week wait is a stretch of time where the symptoms of early pregnancy and the symptoms of an ordinary luteal phase are the same symptoms. A test on a sensible date is the only thing that separates them.
